The aquamarine (« sea water ») has a fitting name: it is as smooth as its elder sister,the emerald, with a colour exhibiting endless shades of blue, displaying the colours of the most beautiful tropical seas. Like the emerald, aquamarine is a blue-green beryl variety. Aquamarine deposits are mainly found in Brazil and Madagascar. |
